Faster success with Business Intelligence

Smart prototyping software for OLAP and data warehouse applications

Munich, 3rd of September, 2007. pmOne AG, a European solutions provider for planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis, today announced the release of OneMind, a software solution that accelerates the creation of individual Business Intelligence applications. This software visualizes the specification process using the concept of mind maps, which structure and present elements in a graphical environment.

OneMind enables users to sort products, customer segments or other application dimensions in a visual mind map using logical hierarchies. After combining these structures with relevant KPIs, the software automatically creates a BI application prototype in Microsoft SQL Server 2005. This prototype includes the relational database (including meta data), OLAP cubes for a jump start in analytics as well as a tool for loading test data into the application. In addition, OneMind can also generate sample reports for Microsoft Excel or Reporting Services.

OneMind is designed to build bridges between business and IT professionals,” explains Markus Nemeth, data warehouse expert at pmOne. “Our experience shows that prototyping is often very difficult and time-consuming because most users have trouble visualizing this process with multidimensional applications. OneMind simplifies this process drastically. Within minutes after entering the rough specifications, users can already access sample reports which they, in turn, can utilize to fine tune the overall concept.“ OneMind is targeted to business professionals who create individual solutions with Microsoft Business Intelligence. The software, which is currently available in English and German, is available as an SQL Server 2005 bundle or a separate license starting at € 6.000.

pmOne is a European provider of business intelligence and performance management solutions that combine Microsoft technologies with complementary modules. The company, which was established in January 2007 by teaming two renowned BI system integrators (Axus AG in Munich and aveness GmbH in Vienna) with experts from leading BI and OLAP vendors, is fully owned by its management and employees.
