Multi-tiered, unified solutions
Our product portfolio, integrating standard Microsoft technologies with a wide range of complementary components, is backed by our complete set of professional services including consulting, implementation and support.
We build solutions that fit your business needs and budget from “think big, start small” approaches to comprehensive BI and CPM architectures.
Data warehousing
A well-designed data warehouse architecture provides an optimal, scalable base for building analytic applications. Although this approach involves a bit more work in the early stages of the project, it is well worth the effort, since you won’t need to hunt and gather data every time you want to add a new application. In combination with a user-friendly front end, a data warehouse can also serve as a solution in itself, for example, detailed sales analytics on individual article or customer levels. In most cases, it serves as the first step in building a comprehensive Corporate Performance Management solution. Our data warehouse platform of choice is SQL Server 2005. pmOne employs the principles of Ralph Kimball – not to mention several leading architects for solutions based on SQL Server within Central Europe.
Corporate Performance Management
Corporate Performance Management (CPM) comprises analytic applications for enterprise planning, budgeting, reporting, consolidation and scorecarding. pmOne implements these solutions using Microsoft PerformancePoint and Tagetik CPM, a specialized suite for process-driven performance management. We use these technologies based on the benefits they offer our customers – not because some bubble in a magic quadrant says we should. These products unify the business and technical development of a single CPM module for planning, reporting, consolidation and balanced scorecard applications. In addition, both products are the result of deliberate development and not a rushed acquisition of individual products. This gives you a significant advantage during the implementation from both technical and business point of views over many so-called “integrated solutions” where the only visible integration is in a sales presentation slide!
PerformancePoint is Microsoft’s modular CPM portfolio, which is scheduled for release in mid 2007. Its strength lies in the seamless integration into Microsoft Office and BackOffice, which turns CPM applications into a fully natural extension of current PC workspaces and provides an elegant way to manage data and processes. We are currently busy collecting experiences in pilot customer projects and are happy to support your early adopter initiatives.
Thanks to built-in processes that use a single database, Tagetik CPM unifies all application processes such as budgeting and forecasting, financial planning, statutory consolidation, management reporting, profitability analysis and ABC modelling. Tagetik’s CPM components offer an extremely tight integration with the Microsoft SQL Server platform and utilizes a variety of IT platforms.
Enterprise Planning
coPlanner delivers an pre-configured planning and reporting solution that is ideal for the needs of mid-sized companies. Built-in functionality, ranging from consolidation and integrated planning for earnings, balance sheets and cash flow to industry-specific tasks like project planning in contract manufacturing, ensure a fast implementation. The pre-defined functionality can be quickly modified or extended by pmOne consultants or qualified colleagues within your company.
User interfaces (front ends)
Due to the modular construction of modern BI architectures, you can access business data using any number of front ends depending on individual preferences, requirements and the underlying IT infrastructure. pmOne offers a selection of front ends to meet these different needs. The most popular front end for analytic applications is and remains Microsoft Excel. Excel 2007, which offers an improved integration into data warehouses and CPM applications, also delves beyond the basic needs of end users. Users with advanced analytic requirements or older versions of Excel can add extra functionality through the Excel add-in, XLCubed.
In addition, the word-sized graphics in MicroCharts enhance the information density of every Excel-based dashboard. Microsoft Reporting Services, which publishes reports and input forms via a Web browser, supports mass publishing of standard reports without the need for desktop software installations.
