Standardization and automation for Enterprise Reporting
Enterprise Reporting includes all reports in a written or electronic format, that were created systematically and include decision-making and management-related information. Enterprise Reporting has four main objectives:
- Data preparation - a constraint is that the data preparation is consistent, ie free of contradictions.
- Transparency – what happens in the company should be displayed fully, understandable, clear and correct.
- Decision support – therefore the scope and complexity of the available data has to be reduced.
- Target-actual comparison - the actual data are compared with target numbers, so that decision makers can identify whether and what effect planned measures may cause.
Besides to the report recipients it is distinguished between internal and external reporting. A standard reporting includes regularly once defined content that meet the information needs of the report receiver. Ad hoc reports address unique needs of decision-makers.
A proven Framework for Enterprise Reporting
Standardization and automation in reporting can both optimize costs and increase transparency. This is demonstrated by successful projects with our customers Henkel and Heraeus. A framework of methods, technologies and products is used across all disciplines of reporting, from data preparation to the creation and publication of reports.
In reporting, too, the earlier the process of data preparation (Build & Connect) is via standardization and automation (creating and publishing), the easier it is to optimize costs and increase transparency. Individual disciplines can be assigned to the three process steps in the reporting. Only a few companies are equally active in all disciplines.
In our implementation projects for a Enterprise Reporting , a framework has proven itself which includes various methods, technologies and products.
The technologies of Microsoft, SAP and pmOne are used for enterprise reporting and use Microsoft SQL Server, the Microsoft Analytics Platform System and SAP HANA for data management. In addition, Azure, Power BI, Cortana Analytics Suite, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and Datazen are used. With great added value cMORE of pmOne and Tagetik complete the framework for enterprise reporting in many disciplines of reporting.
In addition to the formulation of a reporting and business intelligence strategy as well as the organization of a Competence Center for Enterprise Reporting, pmOne AG has a comprehensive method experience in dimension modeling, information design and the agile further development of prototypes from a laboratory situation to a companywide use.
Quick check with SmartProof Enterprise Reporting
With a "Smart Proof", we will review the applicability and the potential benefits of the pre-tested framework for Enterprise Reporting in your company in five days.
After a one-day workshop, a prototype for a prior discipline of reporting will be prepared together with the customer on three days. As a result, the customer receives a presentation of the technical feasibility with an action plan for the implementation of the prototype in the selected reporting discipline. At the same time, this also contains indicators for the required time frame and effort. In addition, the customer receives a roadmap for the standardization and automation of the reporting system using Enterprise Reporting.
